Keywords: strongly correlated electrons, colossal magnetoresistance,
Kondo, spin glasses, heavy fermions, non-Fermi liquids,
waste glasses
Brief description of the work:
I am primarily interested in how local structural properties
(including vibrational properties) relate to novel electronic,
magnetic, and other properties in materials. This goal has lead me
into research primarily in the field of strongly correlated electron
systems, and in particular, colossal magnetorestance (CMR), Kondo and
heavy fermions, non-Fermi liquids, spin glasses, and high-Tc
superconductors, as well as high-level waste glasses. When possible,
I combine results from other techniques, including neutron powder
diffraction (including pdf), magnetic probes, etc.
